Who we are

What we collect

• Order information: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, the products you buy, order value. Payment card details are entered directly with PayPal or Eximbay; we never see or store your full card number.
• Account information: name, email, order history and saved addresses, if you sign in to an account.
• Marketing information: email address and, where you give it, phone number, country and your stated interest (for yourself or a store), when you sign up through a form on our site or at an event.
• Review information: your name or nickname, the review text, rating, photos and skin-type tags you choose to submit.
• Customer-service information: the content of emails, chat messages, phone calls and form submissions, including any details you choose to tell us about a skin reaction.
• Device and usage information: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed and referral source, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health data. If you tell us about a skin reaction, we use it only to answer you, handle your case and review product safety.

Why we use it

• To process your order, take payment, ship your parcel and send order updates (performance of a contract).
• To answer your questions and handle returns, refunds and product reports (contract and legitimate interest).
• To send marketing emails or messages when you have agreed to receive them (consent; withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us).
• To publish reviews you submit (consent).
• To keep our site working, measure how it is used and improve it (legitimate interest).
• To comply with tax, accounting and consumer-protection law (legal obligation).

Who processes it for us

We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do work for us, under contracts that limit how they use it:

• Shopify Inc.: our store platform, checkout, order and customer database (data stored on Shopify infrastructure, which may be outside your country).
• PayPal and Eximbay: payment processing.
• Shipping carriers: name, address and phone number to deliver your parcel and clear customs.
• Review service provider: collecting and displaying product reviews.
• Email service providers (such as Shopify Email): sending marketing emails you have subscribed to.
• Shopify Forms: collecting newsletter, wholesale and event sign-ups.
• Analytics and advertising services: to understand how the site is used and, where cookies are allowed, to measure our marketing. You can opt out of Shopify's ad personalisation at privacy.shopify.com.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not provide it to other third parties except with your consent or when the law requires it, for example at the lawful request of an authority.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the cart and checkout, and analytics and marketing cookies to understand how the site is used and to measure our marketing. Our cookie banner lets you accept or decline analytics and marketing cookies, and you can change your choice later under "Manage preferences"; where the law requires your consent, we do not use those cookies unless you accept them. You can also manage cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may stop checkout from working.

International transfers

We are based in the Republic of Korea. Our service providers process data in Korea, the United States, Canada, the European Union and other countries. The information transferred is the minimum each provider needs for the task listed above, and it is sent over the network when you use our site or place an order. Where required, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. If you do not want your information transferred, we may not be able to take or deliver your order.

How long we keep it

• Order, payment and delivery records, and records of cancellations and returns: 5 years, as required by Korean e-commerce and tax law.
• Customer-service and dispute records: 3 years.
• Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Website access logs: 3 months.

When a retention period ends, we delete electronic records so they cannot be restored and shred paper records.

How we protect it

Our site and checkout use encrypted connections (TLS), card payments are handled by our payment providers, and access to customer data is limited to the people and service providers who need it to do their job.

Your rights

To exercise any of the rights below, email customer@vvbetter.com. We may ask you to verify your identity, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Everyone

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, and you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the link in every email.

European Union and United Kingdom

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to receive your information in a portable format, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data-protection authority.

United States

If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to delete and correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To opt out of any sharing through advertising cookies, decline marketing cookies in our cookie banner or email us with the subject "Do not sell or share". You may use an authorised agent. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.

Republic of Korea

Under the Personal Information Protection Act you can ask us at any time to access, correct, delete or stop processing your personal information, and to withdraw consent. For help with a privacy concern you can also contact the Personal Information Infringement Report Center (118, privacy.kisa.or.kr), the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (1833-6972, kopico.go.kr), the Supreme Prosecutors' Office Cyber Investigation Division (1301) or the Korean National Police Agency Cyber Bureau (182).

Children

Our site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 (Korea) or 16 (EU).

Reviews and user content

If you submit a review or agree to let us share your photo or video, we may display it on our site, product pages and social channels with the name you provided. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
