The short answer

The Jeju Yuja Balancing Pad can be used two ways. For everyday use, sweep one pad along your skin after cleansing, morning and evening. When skin needs calming, or before makeup, lay the pad on your cheeks or forehead for 3–5 minutes as a pack, then remove it and pat in what remains. Keep both away from the eye area.

Wipe or leave on: what each way is for

Most toner pads are made for one job. This one is written for two, which is why the directions give both. The choice is about what your skin needs that day. The Balancing Pad is part of the Green Line, VVBETTER's Jeju Yuja line for purifying and balance, written specially for sensitive skin and for skin that runs oily or combination.

The wipe: your everyday step

  1. Cleanse your face.
  2. Take one pad from the jar and sweep it along your skin, following the skin's texture, over the face and neck. Avoid the eye area.
  3. Let what is left on your skin absorb, then continue with serum and cream.

This format replaces a liquid-toner step rather than sitting on top of one. At one pad per use and two uses a day, the 120-pad jar covers about 60 days. Use the jar within 6 months of opening and close the lid tightly after every use.

The pack: when skin needs a pause

  1. After cleansing, lay one pad flat on your cheek or forehead.
  2. Leave it for 3–5 minutes. A short timer helps.
  3. Remove the pad and pat the remaining essence into your skin.
  4. Finish with serum and cream.

It is a quick mask pack, not an overnight mask, and 3–5 minutes is the stated time. It also works as a short step before makeup. If you need something longer and richer, a sheet mask is a different format with its own timing (see how long to leave each mask on).

Why this pad can do both

The exfoliating ingredient is gluconolactone, a PHA (polyhydroxy acid). A PHA has a larger molecule than AHA or BHA, so it works at the surface and is absorbed more slowly. That is why it was chosen for a pad written for oily, combination, sensitive and normal skin, one you can wipe with daily and, on calm-down days, leave on briefly. The PHA is included at a low level meant for daily use; the formula has no BHA and no added fragrance. That is the mindful approach in practice: nothing unnecessary or harsh, a balanced blend of ingredients that stays gentle even on sensitive skin.

The comfort side comes from MOISTURE TM B at 0.5% (5,000 ppm), a supplier-patented complex from yam, okra, lotus root and aloe vera leaf that forms a thin moisture film on skin. Alongside it are Jeju yuja extract at 1,000 ppm, zinc PCA for skin that looks oily, four centella compounds (madecassoside, asiaticoside, madecassic acid, asiatic acid) with houttuynia, thyme, rosemary, oregano and lavender extracts, and eight types of hyaluronic acid, beta-glucan and panthenol. The pads are Tencel, a fibre made from eucalyptus wood. The PHA ingredient page explains the acid in more detail.

Compare that with the AHA Boosting Toner from the Blue Line, which contains AHA and BHA and is written as a wipe-only step. The pad can be left on skin for its pack time; the AHA toner should not be used as a soaked toner pack. They belong to the same "toner" slot in a routine, so most people use one at a time.

Jar or mini set?

The Pad Mini Set has the same formula, with an identical ingredient list. It comes as five sealed pouches of two pads each, 7 ml of essence per pouch, ten pads in all.

  • Why two pads per pouch: wipe with the first, then lay the second on your cheeks or forehead as the pack. Use both pads in the pouch the same day.
  • Open it and use it: an opened pouch is meant for the same day. Unopened, the set keeps for 36 months from manufacture.
  • Travel: each pouch holds 7 ml of essence, well under the usual 100 ml liquid limit, and they are individually sealed.
  • Trying the pad first: five days of the same pad tells you more than a description. It is the easy way to test the formula before the 120-pad jar.

Using the pad safely

New to exfoliating acids, or using retinoids or other acids? Patch-test on the jawline for two nights first, and if you also use other exfoliating acids, start the pad every other day with sunscreen in the morning. Stop use if redness, swelling or itching appears, and do not use the pad on broken or irritated skin. Store it away from direct sunlight.

Quick answers

Can I use the pad every day?

Yes. The PHA is included at a low level made for daily use. If you are sensitive to particular ingredients, read the full list first.

Wipe and pack in the same sitting?

You can, and the mini set is built for it: wipe with the first pad, then use the second as a 3–5 minute pack. With the jar, use two pads.

Can I use the pad with the Succinic serum?

Yes. Pad first, then the Jeju Yuja Succinic Balancing Serum. Serum goes on after the pad, as it would after any toner.

Can the pad go near my eyes?

No. The label says to avoid the eye area, for both the wipe and the pack.
